According to Global Water Intelligence Canada is the 8th largest water market in the world.
Canada is also a world leader in the development of advanced water and wastewater technologies, with one of the world’s largest water and wastewater technology hubs with 900 water industry companies, research centres, incubators and programs located within Ontario, where UV disinfection and membrane technologies were first developed.
Canada has a strong global niche in global disinfection technologies, wastewater reuse with membrane filtration and UV disinfection systems, and strengths in leak detection; biological treatment and biosolids management systems; pump, gate and valve design; energy recovery systems, and; instrumentation and monitoring.
This sub-sector is one of the most mature in the Canadian clean technology industry, with an average company age of 20 years, and is also one of the biggest exporting sub-sectors, with 79% of Canadian water and wastewater technology companies exporting. As the world moves toward a circular economy, forward-thinking Canadian firms are developing technologies and solutions that recover value – including energy and other products – from wastewater.
We invite you to our Circular Week 2021 event organized jointly with INNOWO and Economic Chamber Polish Waterworks. Register and discover what circular solutions for water and wastewater Canadian companies have to offer to Polish partners and customers.
